Book Warehouse is a local, independent discount book business with eight locations. The company was founded by prominent Western Canadian musicians in 1980 and is a well-known fixture in some of Vancouver's most interesting neighbourhoods. We are pleased to be able to offer our customers literally thousands of interesting and irresistibly-priced titles in a pleasantly relaxing environment.

The cornerstone of our selection and value is our exceptional selection of "bargain books" - remainders, publishers' overstocks, reprints, hurt (slightly damaged) books, samples, bankruptcy stock, and special imports. These books represent well over half our inventory and present our customers with our most interesting titles and our greatest bargains.

In addition to our great bargain books, all of Book Warehouse's standard bookstore titles (current hard and soft cover bestsellers, mass market and standard backlist) are discounted at least 20% from the list price. This includes exceptional selections of new releases, local interest, Canadiana, children's, cooking, self-help, and reference books.

Book Warehouse prides itself on its responsive and ethical position in our book 'ecology'. Canadian publishers are under great pressure from their customers' poor credit performance and absurdly high return rates. We practically never return books because we'd rather give our customers a bargain by marking down a title! We use local suppliers to the greatest extent possible and over 80% of our standard bookstore inventory comes from local suppliers.
